1. Introduction

Productmate GmbH attaches great importance to the protection of your privacy and the confidential handling of your personal data. We process personal data of our users only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our content and services. In this privacy policy, we inform you about how we collect, use, store and disclose personal data when you use our services.

2. Collection and storage of personal data

2.1 When visiting the website

When you visit our website, the browser used on your device automatically sends information to the server of our website. Productmate GmbH automatically collects and stores this information in server log files. The following information is collected without any action on your part and stored until it is automatically deleted:

  • Browser type/browser version
  • Operating system of the computer
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server enquiry

We process the aforementioned data for the following purposes:

  • Ensuring a smooth connection to the website
  • Ensuring a comfortable use of the website
  • Analysing system security and stability and
  • For further administrative purposes

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest follows from the data collection purposes listed above. Under no circumstances will this data be merged with other data sources for the purpose of drawing conclusions about your person.

2.2 When using the contact form

Some of our partner companies use a contact form in which personal data is requested from users. For this function, users must enter their data (e.g. name, telephone number, e-mail, age, gender) manually and accept the data protection provisions. Data processing for the purpose of contacting us is based on your voluntary consent. The personal data collected for the use of the contact form will be automatically deleted after your enquiry has been dealt with.

2.3 When registering for our newsletter

If you have expressly consented in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR, we will use your e-mail address to send you our newsletter on a regular basis. To receive the newsletter, it is sufficient to provide an e-mail address. You can unsubscribe at any time, for example via a link at the end of each newsletter. Alternatively, you can also send us your unsubscribe request by e-mail at any time.

3. Disclosure of personal data

Your personal data will not be transferred to third parties for purposes other than those listed below.  We only pass on your personal data to third parties if:

  • you have given your express consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR (for example, to participate in competitions, to coordinate room cleaning or to enable test drives),
  • the disclosure pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR is necessary for the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims and there is no reason to assume that you have an interest worthy of protection in not disclosing your data
  • in the event that there is a legal obligation for the disclosure pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR, and
  • this is legally permissible and necessary for the processing of contractual relationships with you in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR.

4. Data erasure and storage duration

We only store your personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfil the respective purpose or as required by law. As soon as the data is no longer required to fulfil the purpose, it is deleted or anonymised, provided there are no legal retention obligations. In order to ensure that our partner companies, which receive user data to fulfil the respective purpose, handle your user data in the same way as Productmate GmbH, Productmate GmbH concludes a separate data processing agreement with them, if necessary, in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.

5. Use of general user data

Productmate GmbH uses the Simple Analytics service to collect general user data. Simple Analytics does not collect any personal data, but aggregated information about the use of our website and services. This data is used to analyse and improve our services, but is not used to identify individual users.

6. Cookies

Our website only uses technically necessary cookies (e.g. language settings) to offer you the best possible user experience and to ensure the functionality of our website.

Cookies are small text files that are stored by your web browser on your end device when you visit our website. These cookies do not contain any personal data and are only used to save your settings and preferences for the duration of your visit.

Our website uses the Google Maps service from Google LLC in some application areas, in particular in company profiles of e.g. restaurants, bars, cafés or local shops, to display interactive maps. By using Google Maps (clicking on the map), location data and other personal data may be collected, processed and used by Google. Please note that the data protection provisions of Google LLC also apply when using Google Maps. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures in accordance with the state of the art to protect your personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure and modification and to treat it securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

You have certain rights in relation to your personal data in accordance with Art. 15 ff GDPR. You have the right to information, rectification, erasure, notification, objection and restriction of processing as well as portability of your data.
